Lacy Moorish Vase

Designer Mark Wheadon

A  curvy vase with lace-like Moorish patterns. This spiral vase print stands 20cm high yet uses less than 7m of filament.

How To

Slice with these settings:

3600mm/min speed
0.6mm perimeter width (suggested)
0.2mm layer height
No slow-down for perimeters, no slow-down for cooling
Single perimeter, spiral vase mode, no infill
5 bottom layers (suggested)
0 top layers

Run the velocity painting application or script with these settings:

Mode printCentreX printCentreY imageHeight zOffset targetSpeed lowSpeed highSpeed imageFile sourceGcodeFile
cylinderZ centreX centreY 200 0 3600 800 2400 MoorishTessalated.jpg MoorishVase.gcode

where (centreXcentreY) is the centre of your priner bed in printer coordinates. So (0, 0) for deltas and (125, 105) for the Original Prusa i3 MK2 for example.

Drag the resulting GCODE file onto Simplify3D to preview the patterned print if you can, or move straight to printing if you can’t.
